Program Description
This course is designed to enable the student to learn the comprehensive knowledge tailored for hospitality businesses, restaurant owners, and operators for maintaining safety for customers and employees during COVID-19. Topics to be covered include keeping your restaurant, venue, and event safe from the spread of COVID-19 to customers and staff.
Program Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this Continuing Education Workforce Certificate, students will be able to:
1. identify the skills, regulations and best practices needed to be effective as a Certified COVID Hospitality Compliance Officer (CHCO) in hotels, restaurants, resorts;
2. discuss critical elements of COVID-19, including symptoms, transmission, methods of mitigation, and testing;
3. articulate the roles and responsibilities of a CHCO; and
3. evaluate what steps are necessary to enforce regulations with both customers and staff.

CCBC Credential: Students will be awarded a Continuing Education Workforce Training Certificate and have access to a Continuing Education academic record (transcript).

To apply, go to www.ccbcmd.edu/apply and complete the CCBC Continuing Education Workforce Certificate program application. An email will then be sent with program information and any additional requirements necessary to apply for the program.

Skills for Success:
Outstanding people & organizational skills, excellent customer service skills, strong communication skills; ability to understand and follow safety protocols and regulations. Knowledge and/or experience in hospitality-related fields helpful.
Since this course is delivered completely online, students need the self-discipline to complete all required material. A course instructor will be available to assist students with questions and to lead online activities during the course of the class.
