Corporate Event Planner


Program Description


Learn how to plan, design, and execute a successful corporate event, and how to charge for corporate event planning services. Corporate events span all industries and are planned for a variety of occasions and celebrations. From special events and meetings to assemblies, recognition events and corporate training—you’ll be prepared to handle them all! Upon successfully completing the course, you will be awarded a Certified Corporate Event Planner certification from the Wedding Planning Institute.

Program Outcomes


Upon successful completion of this Continuing Education Workforce Certificate, students will be able to:

1. demonstrate the knowledge and skills of effective planning, designing, and executing a successful corporate event;

2. meet the eligibility requirements for a certification of Corporate Event Planner offered by the Wedding Planning Institute (WPI); and

3. prepare for a career as a corporate event planner in corporate events field.

Business Pathway - Pathways are designed to help you meet your academic and career goals by aligning related courses and programs.  Pathway students participate in a variety of activities that help explore career opportunities in their field of study.  You can meet with a CCBC advisor who help align — or realign — your educational plan with the Pathway that best supports you and your goals.

Program Credentials


CCBC Credential: Students will receive a Continuing Education Workforce Certificate, and have access to a Continuing Education academic record (transcript).

External Credential: Certified Corporate Event Planner

Financial Aid and Payment Options


We offer financial aid by packaging public and private funding options to those who qualify, in select Continuing Education courses and programs. Additional opportunities for financial support include partial payment options through Nelnet Business Solutions and tuition waivers for those who qualify. Resources outside of CCBC may also be available through employer/sponsor paid tuition,  the Department of Rehabilitation Services (DORS), and your local office of workforce development.

Length of Training


Approximately 240 hours

Students may work up to 6 months to complete the online course work.

  • This program is offered entirely online and can be taken on either a Mac or PC. 
  • Mac: MacOS 10.6 or later / PC: Windows 8 or later
  • Internet connection 
  • Email capabilities
  • ​Adobe Acrobat Reader is required for this course.
  • ​Browser: The latest version of Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox are preferred. Microsoft Edge and Safari are also compatible.​

Application Process


To apply, go to www.ccbcmd.edu/apply and complete the CCBC Continuing Education Workforce Certificate program application.  An email will then be sent with program information and any additional requirements necessary to apply for the program.

Open Entry – No screening or documentation required.

Additional Information


Skills for Success:
Outstanding people skills, professional appearance, ability to work independently, good math skills. Knowledge and/or experience in hospitality-related fields is helpful.
​Since this course is delivered completely online, students will need to have the self discipline to complete all required material. A course instructor will be available to assist students with questions and to lead online activities during the course of the class.
