VOB 103 - Certified Professional Life Coach This course is designed to teach the critical skills needed to establish a successful
business as a certified life coach. Upon course completion, students will receive the
Certified Professional Coach (CPC) certification issued through the International
Association of Professional Recovery Coaches (IAPRC). Topics to be covered include Core
Competencies of the International Coach Federations (ICF) and the IAPRC; ICF-recognized protocols; IAPRC code of ethics; awareness and mindful attention; action tools and skills; assumptions and deeper insight; shifting perspective; and launching a life coach business.
Upon completion of this course, the students should be able to:
1. employ techniques to guide clients through a dynamic coaching process from start to
finish;
2. set the foundation for coaching relationships using a formal coaching agreement;
3. apply the application of ethical practices and standards to a life coach business;
4. develop a personal coaching presence;
5. develop a personal coaching style;
6. develop a personal coaching communication system;
7. use techniques to help clients clarify their purpose, goals, plans, and actions;
8. develop a coaching practice;
9. develop an Envisioning Possibilities statement for a client; and
10. develop a comprehensive business plan.
