PCO 304 - Advanced Linux Administration - Hybrid


This course is designed to enable the student to complete an advanced study of the Linux operating system, installation, configuration, and troubleshooting in preparation for the CompTIA Linux certification. Topics to be covered include: installing the Linux operating system, configuring the hardware and software, managing storage in a Linux environment, automating and scheduling jobs, applying security best practices, and configuring firewalls and logging services.

Upon completion of this course, the students should be able to:
1. ​demonstrate knowledge of the Linux boot sequence,
2. demonstrate the ability to install and configure a boot loader,
3. create Linux partitions and manage Linux file systems,
4. demonstrate the ability to summarize cloud virtualization concepts and technologies,
5. demonstrate the ability to automate and schedule jobs,
6. apply the appropriate user and/or group permission and ownership,
7. demonstrate the ability to configure appropriate access and authentication methods,
8. propose security best practices in a Linux environment,
9. demonstrate the ability to configure Linux firewalls,
10. analyze system properties and remediate accordingly, and
11. implement logging services.
