MGT 757 - SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP Certification Exam Preparation This course is designed to assist human resources practitioners to build competency and knowledge in preparation for the Society for Human Resources Management-Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) and Society for Human Resources Management-Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification exams. Topics to be covered include test taking strategies; the four knowledge domains: people, organization, workplace, and strategy; the eight behavioral competencies: leadership & navigation, ethical practice, business acumen, relationship management, consultation, critical evaluation, global and cultural effectiveness; and communication.
Upon completion of this course, the students should be able to:
1. explain how the concepts of people, organization, workplace, and strategy tie together;
2. identify the key labor laws that affect the majority of HR work;
3. explain the eight behavioral competencies as defined by SHRM;
4. discuss the relationships between the eight behavioral competencies;
5. develop a study plan to take the certification exam; and
6. utilize online tools available through the SHRM Learning System.
