SBA 808 - How to Start and Manage Your Own Small Business This course is designed to help the student develop strategies toe examine basic management issues and concerns in forming a business enterprise. The student will explore the advantages and disadvantages of self-employment, available government resources, types of businesses and markets, estimating financial needs selling goods, and technology for finance. Topics to be covered include: business decisions, resources, legal considerations, finances, marketing and sales, employees, technology, balance sheets, and taxes.
Upon completion of this course, the student should be able to:
1. identify the major business considerations informing a business enterprise,
2. discuss the pros and cons of going into business,
3. discuss various financial and accounting concerns,
4. describe how to market and sell the product, and
5. review the technology needs of a modern business.
