MAR 015 - Technology for Marketing Assistants


This course is designed to provide students with an introductory exposure to a variety of software programs used by marketing support staff in an office environment. Topics to be covered include an overview of software used in the create of online and printed media, online marketing, web sites, graphic design, presentations, customer management, and prospecting.

Upon completion of this course, the students should be able to:
1. use Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook to perform mail and email merges;
2. import, and adapt graphic elements using Microsoft software, Acrobat Pro, and Canva;
3. create a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation;
4. demonstrate features common among customer relationship management systems and know how
they integrate with other software programs;
5. design and schedule an email marketing campaign;
6. explain design considerations for presentations, print, and online media;
7. create print and website collateral and graphics using software for non-designers;​
8. explain the differences and limitations of software for non-designers and more designer-
focused programs such as those found in the Adobe suite of software; and
9. explain website fundamentals, considerations and capabilities.​
