MAR 014 - Foundations of Marketing


This course is designed to provide an overview of marketing principles, how business goals and marketing goals are intertwined, and what considerations go into creating a marketing plan. Topics to be covered include identifying an opportunity, defining a buyer, and measuring outcomes of a campaign.

Upon completion of this course, the students should be able to:
1. identify Industry trends and key concepts of marketing;
2. define the target for a promotional campaign and create a marketing persona;
3. describe the buying cycle;
4. conduct a SWOT analysis and define a unique selling position;
5. define what a brand is and factors that influence it;
6. identify components of a marketing plan; and
7. describe metrics for success of a marketing plan.​​​
