Note:
*A new college orientation requirement, completion of the one-credit ACDV 101 course, Transitioning to College, went into effect spring 2010. If you are a credit student who is new to college (meaning you have not successfully completed college coursework at another institution(s)), you are required to take ACDV 101 during your first semester at CCBC, thereby increasing the number of credits required for the certificate to 32-33 credits (depending on chosen option). Students are required to provide an official transcript(s) to document successful completion of college coursework at another institution(s) in order for this requirement to be waived. Program Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this certificate with the Clinical Option, students will be able to:
- assist in preparing patients for medical treatment or procedures and accurately document all procedures;
- code and process medical records electronically for accurate billing and reimbursement; and
- apply HIPAA regulations in the workplace.
Upon successful completion of this certificate with the Administrative Option, students will be able to:
- produce first-time mailable copy using state-of-the art software from a variety of input;
- combine organizational and technical skills to improve office workflow; and
- apply HIPAA regulations in the workplace.
Program Description:
This certificate will prepare students for either front office or back office jobs in the medical office and allied health fields. |
