This is a selective admissions program.

Total Credits Required for Certificate: 24*

*A new college orientation requirement, completion of the one-credit ACDV 101  course, Transitioning to College, went into effect spring 2010. If you are a credit student who is new to college (meaning you have not successfully completed college coursework at another institution(s)), you are required to take ACDV 101  during your first semester at CCBC, thereby increasing the number of credits required for the certificate to 25 credits. Program Description:

CCBC’s Mental Health Program offers a certificate of study for individuals wishing to increase their knowledge in the area of Psychiatric Rehabilitation. Certificate courses are offered for academic credit and may be applied to an Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree program in Mental Health. The 24 credit certificate is designed to meet the demand for qualified staff in the area of psychiatric rehabilitation and enhance the knowledge and skills of individuals already working in the field. As part of the program, students will complete two semesters of fieldwork at a community service agency that provides services to clients with chronic mental illness.

Admission to the certificate program is a separate process from admission to the College. Admission to the School of Health Professions programs is competitive and selective and is based on the criteria below. Students must be admitted to CCBC prior to being considered for the program.
