Total Number of Credits Required 15*

*A new college orientation requirement, completion of the one-credit ACDV 101  course, Transitioning to College, went into effect spring 2010. If you are a credit student who is new to college (meaning you have not successfully completed college coursework at another institution(s)), you are required to take ACDV 101  during your first semester at CCBC, thereby increasing the number of credits required for the certificate to 16 credits. Students are required to provide an official transcript(s) to document successful completion of college coursework at another institution(s) in order for this requirement to be waived.

Program Outcomes:

Upon successful completion of this certificate, students will be able to:

  1. construct and plot multiview drawings at designated scales;
  2. utilize AutoCAD as a precision drafting tool; and
  3. create, use and extract attributed blocks for use in spreadsheet and database programs.

Program Description:

Certificates are awarded to students completing the course pattern with a 2.0 QPA or higher. Courses may be taken in any sequence as long as the prerequisites are met. The CAD certificate program prepares students to work as computer-aided drafters/designers in industry and to upgrade the skills of persons presently employed as drafters in a relatively short academic period by including only CADD and supporting courses. Course work completed in the CADD certificate program is fully applicable to the CADD Associate of Applied Science degree.

The AutoCAD Operator certificate option prepares students for entry-level positions as AutoCAD operators, technicians, and detailers.
