This is a suggested schedule for a student who has completed any developmental course work and has no transfer credits. Please contact the program coordinator for a suggested schedule starting in the Spring semester.

Program Requirements and Electives - 20 Credits

Total Number of Credits Required for Certificate: 20*

*Credit students who are new to college (no successfully completed college coursework at other institutions) are required to take ACDV 101  in the first semester at CCBC. This is a 1-credit class, and it does not count towards the number of credits required for a degree or certificate. Students are required to provide an official transcript(s) to document successful completion of college coursework at another institution(s) for this requirement to be waived.

Program Description

The Flight Training certificate will provide all academic, simulator and ground training required to be licensed as a commercial pilot. A Certificate in Flight Training will be awarded to students completing the above pattern with a 3.0 GPA or higher.

Students considering applying for this program should read the information available on the CCBC website at www.ccbcmd.edu/aviation.

Some aviation classes have lab fees . Fees are subject to change at the discretion of the Community College of Baltimore County.

Program Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this certificate, students will be able to:

  1. demonstrate flight proficiency and instrument rating, safety, and procedural skills to obtain FAA licensure required to secure a position as a commercial flight pilot; and
  2. speak and communicate clearly and decisively using standard industry pilot-controller phraseology.
