- Arts and Humanities (PHIL 101 recommended) 3 Credits.
- Social and Behavioral Sciences (must be from two different disciplines–POLS 101 recommended) 6 Credits.
- Biological and Physical Sciences (from 2 different disciplines or 2-course sequence, 1 with a lab) 7-8 Credits.
- Mathematics (MATH 163 recommended) 3-5 Credits.
- Wellness and Health 3 Credits.
- Information Technology 3 Credits.

A student’s selection of General Education electives will determine the total elective credits required to reach a minimum of 60 credits for the degree. Total Number of Credits Required for Degree: 60 min.*
*A new college orientation requirement, completion of the one-credit ACDV 101 course, Transitioning to College, went into effect spring 2010. If you are a credit student who is new to college (meaning you have not successfully completed college coursework at another institution(s)), you are required to take ACDV 101 during your first semester at CCBC, thereby increasing the number of credits required for the degree to a minimum of 61 credits. Students are required to provide an official transcript(s) to document successful completion of college coursework at another institution(s) in order for this requirement to be waived. Transfer Pattern Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this transfer pattern, students will be able to:
- describe the motivation for the behavior of the consumer as well as of the firm in the marketplace;
- explain the fundamental economic problem of resource scarcity together with opportunity cost;
- plot and interpret quantitative data in graphs and tables;
- explain the market forces of supply and demand in regard to market equilibrium and the shortage or surplus of a good or service; and
- identify and describe significant developments and events in modern macro-economic history since the Great Depression.
Transfer Pattern Description:
This degree pattern is designed to help students transfer to institutions that offer a four-year program in Economics. Beyond the general education requirements and other degree, program, and elective requirements, this pattern should be considered in light of the requirements of the selected transfer institution. Students should consult with a transfer advisor or Economics coordinator in order to select the combination of electives that best meets the requirements of the transfer institution.
