*Students need permission from the Dean of Nursing and Allied Health Professions at HCC to register for these courses. These courses require the student to spend 33 hours/week in a clinical setting. Students must contact the Dean as soon as possible to ensure placement in the END Practicum.

**If you are a credit student who is new to college (meaning you have not successfully completed transferable college credits at another institution(s)), you are required to take ACDV 101  during your first semester at CCBC, thereby increasing the number of credits required for the degree to 70 credits. Students are required to provide an official transcript(s) to document successful completion of college coursework at another institution(s) in order for this requirement to be waived.

Student Learning Outcomes:

Upon successful completion of the degree requirements at CCBC, students will be able to:

Program Description:

This program prepares graduates to operate highly specialized equipment that measures and records the electrical activity of the brain. EEG tracings are used by the physician to evaluate brain disorders such as epilepsy and tumors. Other tests include nerve conduction studies, evoked potential, and polysomnograms.

This program is articulated with Harford Community College. Students complete all science and general education requirements for the program at CCBC. The clinical training component of the program will be provided on the Harford Community College campus and at various clinical sites throughout the metropolitan area. Students participating in this program will transfer credits to Harford Community College and must graduate from there in accordance with the accreditation requirements of the Electroneurodiagnostic Technology program. After completion of the program and the required work experience, graduates are eligible for examination by the American Board of Registration for EEG Technologists to earn the credential of R.EEGT.

Admission to this program is a separate process from admission to the college. Admission to CCBC does not imply admission to Harford Community College or to the EEG program at Harford Community College. This program has been designated as “Statewide” at Harford Community College (HCC) by the Maryland Higher Education Commission. Out-of-county residents who are admitted to the Electroneurodiagnostic Technology program at HCC and enrolled in this program may be eligible for a partial refund of the difference between in-county and out-ofcounty tuition.

Admission Prerequisites:

Students are required to achieve grades of “C” or better in BIOL 220 , Human Anatomy & Physiology I; ENGL 101 , College Composition I; ALHL 115 , Medical Terminology; and ELEC 105, Introduction to Electronics (offered only at HCC) and maintain an overall minimum GPA of 2.0 for all college courses completed.

CCBC School of Health Professions Policies: Students in the School of Health Professions are expected to conduct themselves according to an honor code, exhibit professional behavior, communicate effectively in English, provide proof of health insurance and immunizations, and participate in a criminal background check. They may also be asked to submit to drug testing. Students are expected to incur costs associated with these requirements.
