Certificate Requirements:
Total Credits Required for Certificate: 34*
* A new college orientation requirement, completion of the one-credit ACDV 101 course, Transitioning to College, went into effect spring 2010. If you are a credit student who is new to college (meaning you have not successfully completed college coursework at another institution(s)), you are required to take ACDV 101 during your first semester at CCBC, thereby increasing the number of credits required for the certificate to 35 credits. Students are required to provide an official transcript(s) to document successful completion of college coursework at another institution(s) in order for this requirement to be waived. Program Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this certificate, students will be able to:
- diagnose and repair problems with servers, operating systems, and infrastructure in an enterprise system;
- administer networks and network operating systems;
- secure the above mentioned systems;
- pass and maintain current industry certification in the area(s) specific to their program option (e.g., Comp TIA);
- critically apply software skills to solve business problems in a variety of situations;
- demonstrate proficiency with applications for word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; and
- research technology problems in order to provide basic technology support and learn new technology tools.
Program Description:
Students study software applications, PC and network hardware, and a broad range of Information Technology-related subjects, including operating systems installation, configuration, diagnoses, and repair. |
