  • Arts and Humanities or Social and Behavioral Sciences (world language recommended*) 3 Credits.
  • Wellness and Health 3 Credits.

*Due to the diversity of the hospitality industry, it is advantageous for students to acquire additional language skills.

**A new college orientation requirement, completion of the one-credit ACDV 101  course, Transitioning to College, went into effect spring 2010. If you are a credit student who is new to college (meaning you have not successfully completed college coursework at another institution(s)), you are required to take ACDV 101  during your first semester at CCBC, thereby increasing the number of credits required for the degree to 63-64 credits. Students are required to provide an official transcript(s) to document successful completion of college coursework at another institution(s) in order for this requirement to be waived.

Program Outcomes:


Upon successful completion of this degree, students will be able to demonstrate the following skills during their 400-hour career-related internship experience:

  1. identify different styles of service;
  2. give examples of excellent service;
  3. explain proper methods of food service;
  4. follow procedures for responsible beverage service;
  5. handle guest complaints;
  6. prepare schedules for staff;
  7. conduct material inventories; and
  8. and use point-of-sale, property management system, and other pertinent technology applications.

Program Description:


The CCBC Hospitality Management (HRMT) program is designed to provide a theoretical and practical approach to management in the hospitality industry. A balance of hotel, restaurant, tourism, and entrepreneurship classes make up the core of the program. The A.A.S. degree options (62 credits) offer a traditional full-time and part-time course of study with internship opportunities in Hospitality Management.

This program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). The attainment of this accreditation certifies that the teaching and learning processes within the Business Studies Department meet the rigorous educational standards established by the ACBSP.
