*If you are a credit student who is new to college (meaning you have not successfully completed transferable college credits at another institution(s)), you are required to take ACDV 101  during your first semester at CCBC, thereby increasing the number of credits required for the certificate by 1 credit. Students are required to provide an official transcript(s) to document successful completion of college coursework at another institution(s) in order for this requirement to be waived.

Program Outcomes:


The Database Certificate will prepare students for employment as entry-level database programmers and designers or provide current professionals with essential database programming and design skills.

Upon graduating with a Database Certificate, students will be able to:

  1. demonstrate the following core competencies: communication global perspective/social responsibility, independent learning/personal management, and problem solving skills;
  2. develop databases with Oracle and other current relational database software and technologies;
  3. use DBMS and Data Manipulation Language to maintain data and produce reports; and
  4. assist in developing and implementing database security, user permissions, backup and recovery.

Program Description:


Students will create relational databases and explore other database design and development topics.
