• AVMT 101 - Aviation History and Development 3 Credit(s).
• AVMT 141 - Private Pilot Ground School 3 Credit(s).
• AVMT 211 - Air Transportation 3 Credit(s).
• AVMT 216 - Aviation Safety 3 Credit(s).
• AVMT 221 - The Air Traffic Control System 3 Credit(s).
• AVMT 226 - Air Traffic Control Operations I 3 Credit(s).

Total Number of Credits Required for Certificate 18*

*If you are a credit student who is new to college (meaning you have not successfully completed transferable college credit(s) at another institution(s)), you are required to take ACDV 101  during your first semester at CCBC, thereby increasing the number of credits required for the certificate to 19 credits. Students are required to provide an official transcript(s) to document successful completion of college coursework at another institution(s) in order for this requirement to be waived.

Program Outcomes:

Upon successful completion of this certificate, students will be able to:

1. apply FAA and NTSB regulations and other aeronautical and security guidelines appropriately in various aviation and safety settings;
2. perform basic air traffic controller duties in low-density traffic scenarios; and
3. speak and communicate clearly and decisively using standard industry pilot-controller phraseology.

Program Description:

The Air Traffic Control Certificate is designed to provide a strong foundation and understanding of Air Traffic Control operations. This does not qualify as a substitute for the FAA Collegiate Training Initiative (CTI) degree program. A certificate in Air Traffic Control will be awarded to students completing the above pattern with a 3.0 GPA or higher.
