Total Number of Credits Required for Certificate: 30*

* A new college orientation requirement, completion of the one-credit ACDV 101  course, Transitioning to College, went into effect spring 2010. If you are a credit student who is new to college (meaning you have not successfully completed college coursework at another institution(s)), you are required to take ACDV 101  during your first semester at CCBC, thereby increasing the number of credits required for the certificate to 31 credits. Students are required to provide an official transcript(s) to document successful completion of college coursework at another institution(s) in order for this requirement to be waived.

Program Outcomes:

Upon successful completion of this certificate, students will be able to:

  1. understand camera types and their respective uses;
  2. produce high quality color and black and white digital/photographic prints;
  3. describe and use digital image capture devices;
  4. use digital image editing software/hardware;
  5. understand color theory and processes;
  6. understand and operate studio lighting equipment; and
  7. understand and use professional photographic portrait techniques.

Program Description:

The Computer Graphics and Visual Communication 30-credit Certificate programs are suggested for individuals who want to retool quickly for a new career in computer graphics, as well as students who already have a graduate/undergraduate degree in another field.

The election to complete either the 15- or 30-credit certificate or the A.A.S. degree option can be changed at any time once a student is enrolled in the program.

See the coordinator for advisement and schedule planning.
