*A new college orientation requirement, completion of the one-credit ACDV 101 course, Transitioning to College, went into effect spring 2010. If you are a credit student who is new to college (meaning you have not successfully completed college coursework at another institution(s)), you are required to take ACDV 101 during your first semester at CCBC, thereby increasing the number of credits required for the degree to 64-66 credits. Students are required to provide an official transcript(s) to document successful completion of college coursework at another institution(s) in order for this requirement to be waived. Upon successful completion of this degree, students will be able to:
- recognize and apply standard drafting principles in a CADD environment;
- develop working knowledge and skills to effectively and efficiently create drawings using several software programs;
- identify and explain the function and purpose of CADD system components;
- apply basic dimensioning procedures; and
- plot CADD drawings at designated scales.
Program Description:
The Computer-Aided Design for Architecture and Engineering degree program is designed to prepare the student for an entry-level position in the mechanical, architectural, civil, structural, or other design-related industry. Students graduating with this degree may find employment under the guidance of engineers as CADD operators, engineering technicians, CADD drafters, and design assistants creating technical drawings for engineering applications. |
