Interior Design Certificate

*A new college orientation requirement, completion of the one-credit ACDV 101  course, Transitioning to College, went into effect spring 2010. If you are a credit student who is new to college (meaning you have not successfully completed college coursework at another institution(s)), you are required to take ACDV 101  during your first semester at CCBC, thereby increasing the number of credits required for the certificate to 44 credits. Students are required to provide an official transcript(s) to document successful completion of college coursework at another institution(s) in order for this requirement to be waived.

Program Outcomes:


Upon successful completion of this certificate, students will be able to:

  1. create residential and commercial interior design projects from concept to design development including construction documentation;
  2. create plan, elevation, and section view drawings to scale showing accessible circulation patterns compliant to ADA codes;
  3. properly create 2D and 3D renderings for conceptual presentation, material boards, and both digital and print presentations;
  4. draw and identify architectural motifs;
  5. create lighting, electrical, feng shui, and sustainable/green design plans/packages;
  6. create budget proposals and contracts for their own future business;
  7. write specifications and create contract documents for furniture, materials, and textiles as practiced in a design firm; and
  8. demonstrate in their portfolio their individual skill to be used as a marketing tool.

Program Description:


A certificate will be awarded to students completing the course pattern with a 2.0 GPA or higher.
