PCA 806 - Oracle SQL and PL/SQL Developer Module One

This course is designed to enable the student to build applications or generate business reports using Structured Query Language (SQL). Students will master SQL using an Oracle database and use PL/SQL extension language to write sophisticated queries against an Oracle database. Topics include relational database basics; simple and advanced SELECTs; subqueries, joins and unions; users and schemas; pseudo columns & functions; subqueries; joining tables; rollup & cube; using set operators; conditional processing; SQL functions; SQL data manipulation language; and SQL data manipulation language.

Course Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, the students should be able to:
1. define relational database;
2. create simple and advanced SELECTS;
3. list popular relational databases;
4. create a user;
5. create subqueries, joins and unions;
6. use set operators;
7. create advanced Oracle SQL queries;
8. use SQL functions;
9. use data manipulation language; and
10. use GROUP BY, ROLLUP and CUBE.
