This course is designed to enable the student to develop the knowledge and skills to plan for future business employment needs, particularly in management and leadership areas, and apply them as a manager. Topics to be covered include: what is succession planning, determining management and organizational employment needs, assessing current organization capabilities, and building a succession planning model.
Course Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, the students should be able to:
1. define and explain the principles of succession planning,
2. explain the organizational benefits and value of succession planning,
3. identify the key elements of a succession plan,
4. demonstrate the ability to assess current organizational management needs and potential, and
5. discuss the development of a succession action plan.
