CHEM 121 - General Chemistry I 3 Credit(s).
Includes the study of atomic structure, nomenclature, chemical reactions and equations, stoichiometry, thermochemistry, chemical bonds and structures; typically taken by science, health professional and engineering majors. For students needing a lab, CHEM 122 serves as the accompanying lab. 3 lecture hours and 1 recitation hour per week. NOTE: Course offered fall, spring, and may be offered during additional sessions.
Prerequisite(s): CHEM 107 and CHEM 108 with a grade of “C” or better; OR a passing grade on the chemistry placement exam and ENGL 052 or ESOL 052 and RDNG 052 or ESOL 054 ; or ACLT 052 and MATH 083 ; OR permission of the department chair.
