NURN 153 - Fundamentals of Nursing Concepts


8 Credits.

Presents the principles and concepts necessary to introduce students to the role of the nurse generalist. Students begin theoretical studies which are based on the CCBC Concept-based curriculum and which provide opportunities for students to gain cognitive, technical, and interpersonal skills necessary for the practice of nursing. The learning experiences, including classroom instruction, supervised simulations and clinical experiences, are designed to assist learners to integrate critical thinking, caring behaviors, technological innovations, and skills performance into safe effective nursing care. Note: An additional diagnostic fee is due at time of registration. Courses offered every fall and spring semester.

Prerequisite(s): ENGL 101 , BIOL 220 , BIOL 221 , BIOL 230  all with a C or better and PSYC 101 .NURN 103
