Note
*Credit students who are new to college (no successfully completed transferable college credits from other institutions) are required to take ACDV 101 - Academic Development: Transitioning to College . This 1-credit course is designed to be taken in the first semester at CCBC. Students must provide an official transcript(s) from an accredited institution to document successful completion of college coursework for the ACDV 101 requirement to be waived.
Program Description
The Human Services certificate program provides a broad base of training preparing students to work in a wide array of social and human service positions providing direct service opportunities. Social and human service assistants help social workers, healthcare workers, and other professionals to provide services to those in need.
Program Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the Human Services certificate, students will be able to:
- effectively express opinions and facts through both oral and written communication;
- demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to work with human services clients; and
- exhibit preparedness to work in an entry-level position at a variety of human services agencies.
