The Information Technology A.A.S. degree is offered both face to face and fully (100%) online.
Opportunities for Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) - Several General Education classes offer PLA. See Portfolio, Departmental Exam, CLEP, DSST, Advanced Placement, and International Baccalaureate. General education classes are required for associate degrees but not for certificates.

*Credit students who are new to college (no successfully completed transferable college credits from other institutions) are required to take ACDV 101 - Academic Development: Transitioning to College . This 1-credit course is designed to be taken in the first semester at CCBC. Students must provide an official transcript(s) from an accredited institution to document successful completion of college coursework for the ACDV 101 requirement to be waived.

Program Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this certificate, students will be able to:

diagnose and repair problems with servers, operating systems, and with various infrastructures.
administer and secure networks and network operating systems.
prepare for completion or recertification of various industry certifications.
critically apply software skills to solve business problems in a variety of situations;
demonstrate proficiency in using applications for word-processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
research technology problems in order to provide basic technology support and to learn new technology tools.
demonstrate appropriate ethical and professional conduct related to technology and computing practices.
