Note


*Credit students who are new to college (no successfully completed transferable college credits from other institutions) are required to take ACDV 101 - Academic Development: Transitioning to College . This 1-credit course is designed to be taken in the first semester at CCBC. Students must provide an official transcript(s) from an accredited institution to document successful completion of college coursework for the ACDV 101 requirement to be waived.

Program Description


Students will create relational databases and explore other database design and development topics.

Program Outcomes


The Database Certificate will prepare students for employment as entry-level database programmers and designers or provide current professionals with essential database programming and design skills.

Upon graduating with a Database Certificate, students will be able to:

  1. design and develop databases using current relational database software and technologies.
  2. use DBMS and Data Manipulation Language to manipulate and maintain data and produce reports.
  3. assist in developing and implementing database security, user permissions, backup, and recovery.
  4. employ a broad knowledge of technical skills and best practices related to database concepts.
  5. demonstrate appropriate ethical and professional conduct related to technology and computing practices.
