While a drivers’ license is not required to enroll in CCBC’s automotive technology programs, not having a valid driver’s license will forbid students from operating CCBC owned or manufacturer partner program vehicles and will negatively impact a future technician’s employment and earning potential.

Note

*Credit students who are new to college (no successfully completed transferable college credits from other institutions) are required to take ACDV 101 - Academic Development: Transitioning to College . This 1-credit course is designed to be taken in the first semester at CCBC. Students must provide an official transcript(s) from an accredited institution to document successful completion of college coursework for the ACDV 101 requirement to be waived.

Program Description

Individuals successfully completing this certificate will be ready for employment opportunities in the automotive repair industry as Automotive Service Attendant technicians. Global options are available full-time weekday, and part-time weeknights and/or Friday/Saturday, with starts throughout the year.

Program Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this certificate, students will be able to:

successfully complete ASE testing for Brakes and Suspension Certification;
successfully complete ASE testing for Electrical and Electronics Certification;
successfully complete ASE testing for Steering and Suspension Certification; and
gain employment in the Independent or Dealership arena.
