This is a suggested schedule for a student who has completed any developmental course work and has no transfer credits. Please contact the program coordinator for a suggested schedule starting in the Spring semester.

Note


*Credit students who are new to college (no successfully completed transferable college credits from other institutions) are required to take ACDV 101 - Academic Development: Transitioning to College . This 1-credit course is designed to be taken in the first semester at CCBC. Students must provide an official transcript(s) from an accredited institution to document successful completion of college coursework for the ACDV 101 requirement to be waived.

 

Program Description


The Aviation Management Certificate prepares students for employment in various business-related aviation career fields, including airport or airline management, airline scheduling, cargo operations and fixed base operator (FBO) management. Careers are also available with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), Department of Transportation (DOT) and other government agencies.

Program Outcomes


Educational Outcomes


Upon completion of this certificate program, graduates will:

  1. Demonstrate leadership in applying aviation business principles and flight operations regulations and procedures.
  2. Be qualified for employment with air traffic control facilities, regional and major airlines, corporate flight departments, charter or cargo operators, fixed base operators, aviation training centers, or with a government agency or military service.
  3. Be qualified for employment for non-aviation positions available with other transportation related services, law enforcement, or other federal, state and local agencies.

Learning Outcomes


Upon successful completion of this certificate program, students will be able to:

  1. demonstrate leadership, teamwork, managerial, and organizational skills within the aviation industry;
  2. analyze and assess airline and corporate flight operations, government regulations, and safety and environmental concerns to plan and implement appropriate strategic and tactical business methodologies;
  3. measure the impact of global competition and security issues on the U.S. aviation industry, identify progressive actions to overcome these issues, and utilize technology to enhance efficiency and competitiveness;
  4. respond to changing paradigms and unique challenges associated with a culturally diverse workforce; and
  5. speak and write effectively for professional business communication in the aviation industry.
