All Automotive Technology programs at CCBC Catonsville are nationally accredited by the ASE Education Foundation to the Master Automotive Service technician level (MAST).

The mission of the Automotive Technology Program at CCBC is to prepare students for successful employment or advancement as automotive technicians. The Automotive Program awards a Certificate and/or an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree. The A.A.S. degree can be achieved through any one of four pathways. Those pathways include a Global option which covers a wide range of automotive makes and models, including a Chrysler-affiliated opportunity, and two other Manufacturer-Specific options including Ford, General Motors, and Nissan. The Automotive Technology program provides students with state-of-the-art automotive service and repair techniques. Technical training is provided in the classroom and in the lab on CCBC vehicles.
These Manufacturer-Specific options, designed in cooperation with either General Motors and the Maryland General Motors Dealerships, Ford Motor Company and the Maryland Ford Motor Company Dealerships, Nissan North America and the Maryland Nissan Dealerships, or the Chrysler-affiliated opportunity within the Global option and the Fiat/Chrysler Automobile Dealerships lead to an Associate of Applied Science degree. The program alternates college instruction with on-the-job dealership training. These two-year Cooperative Education (Co-op) programs are designed for individuals who have a career interest in the automotive service industry. Students must meet specific requirements of admission. An A.A.S. degree is awarded to students who have a GPA of 2.0 or higher and complete the listed course pattern. Students who choose this curriculum and want to transfer to a four-year institution should check with the program coordinator and/or academic advisor.

All manufacturer-specific programs start in the fall and run full time continuously in eight-week sessions. Global options are available full time weekdays and part time weeknights and/or Friday/Saturday, with starts throughout the year.
