Note
*Credit students who are new to college (no successfully completed transferable college credits from other institutions) are required to take ACDV 101 - Academic Development: Transitioning to College . This 1-credit course is designed to be taken in the first semester at CCBC. Students must provide an official transcript(s) from an accredited institution to document successful completion of college coursework for the ACDV 101 requirement to be waived.
Program Description
Students study software applications, PC and network hardware, and a broad range of Information Technology-related subjects, including operating systems installation, configuration, diagnoses, and repair.
Program Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this certificate, students will be able to:
- diagnose and repair problems with servers, operating systems, and infrastructure in an enterprise system;
- administer networks and network operating systems;
- secure the above mentioned systems;
- pass and maintain current industry certification in the area(s) specific to their program option (e.g., Comp TIA);
- critically apply software skills to solve business problems in a variety of situations;
- demonstrate proficiency with applications for word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; and
- research technology problems in order to provide basic technology support and learn new technology tools.
