Short Description
This Letter of Recognition is granted to students in the Criminal Justice Studies program who complete the identified courses with a 3.0 grade point average (GPA) or better. The college requires a 2.0 overall GPA to be awarded the Letter of Recognition. This recognition can be earned by Criminal Justice majors prior to completion of the certificate or degree, as a credential to show potential employers that they have achieved mastery of basic skills related to verbal and written communication.

Outcomes
Upon completion of the courses required for this Letter of Recognition, students will be able to:
- Apply principles of verbal, written and non-verbal interaction to a variety of communication contexts
- Utilize the proper grammar and writing mechanics in written correspondence such as statement of charges, investigative and disciplinary reports, court documents, summaries, etc.
