*Credit students who are new to college (no successfully completed college coursework at other institutions) are required to take ACDV 101 in the first semester at CCBC. This is a 1-credit class, and it does not count towards the number of credits required for a degree or certificate. Students are required to provide an official transcript(s) to document successful completion of college coursework at another institution(s) for this requirement to be waived.
Program Description
This certificate offers two options to prepare students for either front office or back office entry-level jobs in the medical office. Program Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this certificate with the Clinical Option, students will be able to: - assist in preparing patients for medical treatment or procedures and accurately document all procedures;
- code and process medical records electronically for accurate billing and reimbursement; and
- apply HIPAA regulations in the workplace.
Upon successful completion of this certificate with the Administrative Option, students will be able to: - produce first-time mailable copy using state-of-the art software from a variety of input;
- combine organizational and technical skills to improve office workflow; and
- apply HIPAA regulations in the workplace.
