This course is designed to provide field experiences through affiliate organizations to develop student assessment and treatment skills, enhancing critical thinking development in the dynamic patient care environment. Topics to be covered include demonstration of the the skills and knowledge acquired in the classroom and lab in a real-world setting.
Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course the student will be able to:
1. demonstrate methods for safely preparing, packaging, and the movement of a patient for transport;
2. demonstrate patient assessment techniques for patients presenting with diverse chief complaints to include medical and trauma emergencies;
3. and formulate patient treatment plans based on patient assessments, complaints, and medical direction standing orders in all patient populations and chief complaints.
