AHL 353 - Health IT Systems Implementation

This course is designed to provide instruction on the methodologies and processes involved in selecting, implementing, and securing healthcare information systems. The course emphasizes practical approaches to managing healthcare IT projects and ensuring data integrity, privacy, and security. Topics to be covered include project management techniques, system development lifecycles, testing strategies, and security frameworks specific to healthcare IT implementations.

Course Objectives

Upon completion of this course the student will be able to:

1. apply system development lifecycle methodologies to healthcare IT projects;
2. develop project management plans for healthcare IT implementations;
3. identify the key elements when designing core workflows that support clinical and business systems;
4. analyze requirements and selection criteria for healthcare information systems;
5. design testing and quality assurance strategies for healthcare applications;
6. implement privacy and security frameworks for healthcare data protection; and
7. create effective healthcare analytics and reporting solutions.
