This course is designed to enable the student to learn all steps of a supply chain and how to efficiently manage the convergence of each segment to optimize the value chain of a product. This class will prepare students to take the Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) test. Topics to be covered include: purchasing management, managing supplier relationships, ethical and sustainable sourcing, and demand forecasting.
Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course the student will be able to:
1. develop a supply chain strategy that includes core capabilities, supply chain objectives, macro & micro economic consideration, technology and network optimization,
2. implement a supply chain strategy,
3. model the planning and procurement process within the supply chain activities, including demand management, operations planning, and control, inventory management, logistics,
4. manage the relationship with supply chain partners, and
5. manage supply chain improvement and best practices through compliance with standards, sustainability, managing supply chain risk, and metric design to monitor performance.
