VOB 134 - Certified Property Maintenance Technician with EPA Certification 8.5 Continuing Education Units (CEU). This course is not for Credit(s).
This continuing education course is designed to equip students who are property maintenance technicians with the practical skills and knowledge needed to excel in entry-level roles in property maintenance, culminating in preparation for both written and practical NOCTI building maintenance certification exams and the EPA 608 written exam. Topics to be covered include: hands-on skills in interior and exterior upkeep; mastering essential HVAC skills leading to EPA 608 Type I certification; and becoming proficient in plumbing, electrical repair, and tool usage.
Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course the student will be able to:
1. utilize hands-on technical skills learned throughout the course to perform common maintenance tasks associated with the residential maintenance industry;
2. perform common tasks associated with the repairs and maintenance associated with residential facilities; and
3. recognize and troubleshoot commonly used HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems, including the adding or removing of refrigerant from small appliances in accordance with EPA 608 type I certification.
