CHA 114 - Foundations of Video Game Design


4.4 Continuing Education Units (CEU). This course is not for Credit(s).

This course is designed to enable the student, who plans to work in the video game industry, to learn about the basic software packages used in developing video games. Topics to be covered include game design, game mechanics, basic animation systems, collision geometry, data structures, modeling, and rigging.

Course Objectives

Upon completion of this course the student will be able to:

1. use basic software to create a model for a video game figure,
2. use basic software to create animation,
3. use rigging techniques to animate models, and
4. use the basic vocabulary of game design.
