ADS 087 - Math 2: Fractions and Graphing 4.4 Continuing Education Units (CEU). This course is not for Credit(s).
This course is designed to enable the disabled student to learn math skills beyond whole number operations, focusing on fractions and graphing. Topics to be covered include adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing fractions and mixed numbers; displaying data using graphing techniques; and using fractions and graphics in real world applications like recipes, medication distribution, and infographics.
Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course the student will be able to:
1. demonstrate the ability to add and subtract like fractions, unlike fractions, and mixed numbers;
2. demonstrate the ability to multiply and divide like fractions and mixed numbers;
3. demonstrate the ability to display data on more than three types of graphs to include pie charts, bar graphs, line graphs, stem and leaf plots, and histograms;
4. demonstrate multiplication and division of recipes;
5. demonstrate addition and subtraction of whole and mixed numbers using real world applications such as medication distribution; and
6. compare and contrast graphing data used in the real world, such as infographics.
