ADS 056 - English III: Master of Literacy Refresher

0.9 Continuing Education Units (CEU). This course is not for Credit(s).

This course is designed to enable students with disabilities to review and reinforce literacy skills in between semesters. Topics to be covered include strategies for pre-reading, identifying abstract ideas in texts, and active and critical reading.

Course Objectives

Upon completion of this course the student will be able to:

1. identify and discuss themes in a non-fiction text, such as an article or essay;
2. identify and discuss themes in a piece of literature or article; and
3. identify and critique an argument made in a non-fiction text.
