ADS 055 - English II: Exploration of Literacy Refresher

This course is designed to enable students with disabilities to review and reinforce literacy skills in between semesters. Topics to be covered include identifying the main idea and supporting details of a text, developing strategies for comprehension, and developing a wider vocabulary.

Course Objectives

Upon completion of this course the student will be able to:

1. identify the main idea of a short story or article;
2. identify the supporting details of a short story or article;
3. identify and define words common in literature and media; and
4. compose a short essay on an article of short work of fiction.
