CHA 199 - Office Skills Internship 5 Continuing Education Units (CEU). This course is not for Credit(s).
This course is designed to prepare the student, who is disabled, to work in a office setting. Topics will include use of office technology, customer service, typical office protocols, professional etiquette, conflict resolution, and professional communication.
Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course the student will be able to:
1. demonstrate the use of a multi-use copier to make one and two sided, stapled, and collated copies;
2. demonstrate the use of a fax machine;
3. demonstrate customer service techniques and protocols;
4. demonstrate the maintenance of files;
5. develop routines and practices that incorporate time management and prioritization in office work;
6. analyze tasks to determine strategies to increase efficiency;
7. demonstrate strategies to resolve conflict with co-workers, customers and supervisors;
8. demonstrate clear, effective, and appropriate communication for the workplace;
9. demonstrate appropriate professional attire; and
10. demonstrate appropriate use of technology in the workplace.
