ACC 006 - ACCOUNTING/BOOKKEEPING I XX Continuing Education Units (CEU). This course is not for Credit(s).
Course Objectives:
Learn the basic principles of the double entry system. Ideal for a small business owner, potential business owner, and those looking for entry level accounting jobs. Topics to be covered include business records, transactions, journals, ledgers, income statements, balance sheets and more.
Upon completion of this course the student will be able to:
1. define the accounting equation;
2. apply basic accounting principles in common transactions;
3. analyze businesstransactions and apply the mechanics of double-entry bookkeeping;
4. identify a basic set of financial statements: income statement, statement of owner’s equity, balance sheet and statement of cash flows;
5. analyze adjusting entries;
6. compute and record basic depreciation; and
7. prepare an unadjusted and adjusted trail balance.
