This continuing education course is designed to assist managers in improving their knowledge and skills in the review and analysis of financial statements. Topics to be covered include: financial terminology, financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, financial ratios, calculating and interpreting cash flow, constructing and analyzing budgets, and calculating and interpreting pro-forma financial statements.
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
1. define fundamental financial terms;
2. identify common financial statements and their components;
3. describe the elements of a balance sheet and their sources;
4. describe the elements of an income statement and their sources;
5. identify and calculate common financial ratios;
6. describe components and uses of a cash flow statement;
7. describe components and uses of budgets; and
8. describe elements of a pro-forma financial statement.
