MAR 019 - The Creative Entrepreneur: Selling at Markets

This continuing education course, for creative entrepreneurs, is designed to explore the essentials for selling at markets and fairs, including product selection, categorization using a product matrix, and developing a target  audience. Topics to be covered include: exploring how to use the marketing mix (product, price, place, promotion) to set competitive prices that attract buyers, while maintaining profitability; and how to evaluate choosing the right markets for a brand and maximizing success at events.

Upon completion of this course, students should be able to:

1. distinguish between a creative business plan and a traditional business plan;
2. explain how to develop a marketing strategy for a creative business;
3. discuss resources for finding markets and fairs; and
4. conduct research how to sell at markets and fairs.
