This course is designed to enable the student to learn an introduction to the theory and hands on components of construction trades. Topics to be covered include OSHA, safety, math, tools, drawings, communication and material handling.

Course Objectives

Upon completion of this course the student will be able to:

1. demonstrate basic construction safety,
2. complete and obtain OSHA 10 certification,
3. complete and obtain first aid and CPR certification,
4. solve math problems using basic construction math,
5. identify hand and power tools,
6. use construction drawings,
7. demonstrate effective communication,
8. discuss what employability means within construction trades, and
9. demonstrate safe material handling.
