NURN 219 - Paramedic to RN Transition 8 Credit(s).
Paramedic to RN Transition prepares the qualified Emergency Medical Technician/Paramedic to enter the CCBC registered nursing program with advanced standing. Information from nursing program courses (NURN 150, NURN 210, and NURN 220) is presented in a condensed format. Emphasis is placed on the role of the registered nurse in the care of clients with selected health care needs on various levels of the health care continuum. The nursing process and critical thinking are used to guide the acquisition of nursing knowledge and the performance of therapeutic nursing interventions and client teaching. Clinical experiences are planned to provide students with opportunities to apply theory and practice to the role of the registered nurse under the supervision of nursing faculty. Course offered once a year (fall or spring).
Prerequisite(s): ENGL 101 , BIOL 220 , BIOL 221 , PSYC 101 , PSYC 103 , BIOL 230 , SOCL 101 , MATH 083 or MATH 101 (for Math requirement) Other Hours: 6 credit hours (90 clock hours); 2 credit hours of clinical (90 clock hours). Lab Fee: $313.00 Common Course Outline: NURN 219 CCO
