PCP 756 - Android Application Development - Hybrid


5 Continuing Education Units (CEU). This course is not for Credit(s).

This course is designed to enable the business professional to learn how to create mobile applications for the Android platforms utilizing the Android Software Development Kit (SDK), Android Virtual Device (AVD) and Eclipse.  Students also learn how to test, debug, and deploy applications.  Topics to be covered include the Android world, designing, themes and the Android manifest file, conditional statements, intents, music, testing, Android virtual device, application templates, animation, persistent data, and Google play.

Course Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, the student should be able to:

1.  use the Android user interface;
2.  implement Android user input, variables, and operations;
3.  implement icons and decision-making controls;
4.  implement Android lists, arrays, and web browsers;
5.  integrate audio and animation in Android apps;
6.  implement pictures in grid view;
7.  implement DatePicker on tables;
8.  implement master/detail flow activity on a tablet;
9.  implement persistent data in Android apps; and
10.  utilize Android app publishing.
