PCA 807 - Oracle SQL and PL/SQL Developer Module Two


6 Continuing Education Units (CEU). This course is not for Credit(s).

This course is designed to enable the student to build applications or generate business reports using Structured Query Language (SQL). Students will master SQL using an Oracle database and use PL/SQL extension language to write sophisticated queries against an Oracle database. Topics include the environment for PL/SQL development; PL/SQL basics; declaring variables; handling exceptions; use of SQL in PL/SQL; blocks; introducing subprograms; stored procedures and functions; packages; and database triggers.

Course Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, the students should be able to:
1. explain the PL/SQL development cycle;
2. execute PL/SQL blocks and functions;
3. use variables;
4. demonstrate the ability to handle exceptions;
5. demonstrate the ability to find, create, and modify subprograms;
6. use PL/SQL packages;
7. demonstrate the ability to enable, use, and modify triggers;
8. create reports; and
9. use Oracle supplied packages.
